Challenge:

  • Designed a complete Transaction Processing System for a major Investment Bank’s Fixed Income products. We were mandated to analyze the existing transaction processing paradigm across the client’s vast collection of fixed income products and standardize and modernize process.

  • Standardize the access mechanisms for disparate transaction processing systems.

  • Create a blueprint for future transaction processing systems.

Byte’s approach towards Solution

Collected user requirements through extensive interactions with various client groups and business users. 

Developed detailed class and activity diagrams using industry standard Unified Modeling Language (UML) notations depicting the various stages and the states of transactions as well as the business objects in the system.

Developed a completed data model for the system.

 

Created a complete set of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) for the plug-in points for other systems.

Client was unable to allocate qualified internal resources with broad Fixed Income understanding and appropriate technological skill set required for the project.

The client benefited greatly from Byte’s Fixed Income expertise along with the technology expertise in designing a complete solution.

The design document provided a conceptual model for creating future service components in Fixed Income transaction processing.
